Press release on the meeting between the Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Propaganda and Information Committee of the National Assembly and the Ministry of Information
On 25 January 2023, at the National Assembly building, the National Assembly Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Propaganda and Information with the Ministry of Information and colleagues organized a discussion meeting to understand “Media Affairs in Cambodia” in order to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Cambodian media system aims to promote people’s right to access to information. The Ministry of Information also said that the ministry will consider updating the Law on the Press in the future to be in line with the actual context of the national society and the rise of newspapers, radio, television, and online media. Both sides also discussed the Draft Law on Access to Information, which is also important, and complex and needs to study all aspects from many relevant ministries and institutions. The draft law is currently under the Ministry of Justice, which is reviewing the chapter on provisions and plans to issue it in the upcoming 7th legislature of the National Assembly.
